You can help make the Philadelphia Wax Museum a reality.
With the financial support of individuals and business from around Philadelphia and across the world, the dream of an entertaining educational resource for children and adults -- based around wax figures of prominent Philadelphians -- can become a reality sooner rather than later.
The Philadelphia Wax Museum aims to be an asset to the local community and an attraction to draw visitors to the city. While there are many Philadelphia tourist attractions to compete for the attention of visitors, wax museums have proven to be viable enticements in many cities. There are many museums in Pennsylvania, but none are specifically designed to honor the prominent citizens of Philly.
Can you imagine seeing intricate likenesses of Bill Cosby, Benjamin Franklin and Kevin Bacon in the same museum? All are well-known in their fields, and all are from this area. Will Smith, Patti Labelle and many others will have a place in this facility as well. Our city has a rich past that’s intertwined with our nation’s history, but many of our citizens have found fame in Hollywood and in the glitz and glamour of New York City too. We will endeavor to honor them all.
More Than Wax
The Philadelphia Wax Museum will be more than a place to see wax figures. It will offer citizens and visitors alike an experience of the history and heritage of Philly. The museum will help make this city come alive by offering education programs for children and adults, exhibit space where local artists can interpret our culture and much more.
The museum will also promote preservation of historical artifacts, documents and memorabilia from famous Philadelphians, making these rarely seen pieces of history available for public view in carefully organized exhibits and special showings.
Above all, the Philadelphia Wax Museum will inspire even greater interest in the history of this city, this nation and the prominent people in many fields who have ties to us.
